Department Summary

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
CUSTOMER
- Formulate, articulate, and execute a comprehensive governance and control strategy tailored to the specific business function, ensuring alignment with the overarching business objectives.
- Oversee and coordinate initiatives requiring collaboration across various sectors.
- Lead the execution of regulatory change management and offer direction to the team in the formulation and/or integrated application of policies, procedures, and modifications across diverse business and functional domains.
- Establish partnerships with management and relevant teams in the area of expertise, staying attuned to industry trends and proactively identifying challenges and opportunities, providing recommendations to senior leadership.
- Guarantee that all administrative, control, and compliance tasks are completed accurately to meet established targets.
- Ensure a consolidated view of all associated business risks and control activities across the entire function, delivering escalations, recommendations, and decision support to leadership.
- Anticipate program/initiative demands and manage the prioritization of the portfolio with key stakeholders.
- Deliver functional/business-level communications to ensure consistency and alignment of messages to stakeholders and employees with business risk strategies and executive directives.
- Guide complex, expansive enterprise or cross-functional projects as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and engage in the design, testing, and implementation of solutions.
SHAREHOLDER
- Collaborate closely with senior management to devise a business plan that optimizes resource utilization and leverages TD's operational model for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
- Facilitate relationships with corporate and/or control functions to ensure compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.
- Evaluate and identify critical issues, escalating them to the appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders and business management as necessary.
- Identify, mitigate, and report on risk issues in accordance with enterprise policies and guidelines, ensuring proper escalation procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure business operations comply with relevant requirements, including financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals, and asset control.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional/enterprise initiatives as a SME, aiding in risk identification and providing guidance for complex scenarios.
- Manage oversight processes, risk-based identification, and monitoring of associated risks and regulatory compliance across supported functions, ensuring effective management of key controls and processes.
- Oversee or facilitate the implementation of action/remediation plans to address performance, risk, and governance challenges.
- Safeguard the organization's interests by identifying and managing risks, escalating non-standard, high-risk transactions or activities as needed.
- Promote a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes aligned with risk appetite.
EMPLOYEE / TEAM
- Responsible for the overall management of the team, providing leadership, guidance, and expertise while ensuring adherence to enterprise frameworks and methodologies.
- Assist the team in remaining informed about emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements, assessing potential impacts on the Bank.
- Encourage an environment where team members feel comfortable escalating business challenges; facilitate change through positive reinforcement of milestones and achievements.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes fairness and equity, supporting a diverse workforce and motivating the team to reach common goals.
- Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank.

- Present and recommend strategies to senior management and executives.
- Ensure an integrated approach with other business areas and the broader organization as appropriate.
- Coordinate and prioritize multiple initiatives effectively.
- Establish productive relationships with various stakeholders, business sponsors, executives, and lines of business.
- Provide coaching and guidance to practitioners and executives within your area of expertise.
- Possess deep knowledge and understanding of business operations, technology, and organizational practices.
- Focus on medium-term planning and business challenges (e.g., 6-12 months).

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree preferred.
- Advanced understanding of business operations and knowledge of risk and control functions.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in advanced Excel skills (PIVOT Tables, Macros, VLOOKUP) and MS Office.
- Strong presentation abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, essential for collaboration across various departments.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
