Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Second Cook to join our culinary team at Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of meals, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals, including planning menus and estimating food requirements.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, and maintain inventory and records.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
  • Order supplies and equipment, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Requirements
  • Safe Food Handling certificate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
