About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Expert to join our Information Technology team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving enterprise data maturity and developing data strategies that align with our overall business objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of data management and data governance principles, with a proven track record of leading large-scale data transformations. You will be responsible for consulting with business and technology customers to understand their data needs and developing solutions that drive operational reporting, analytics, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks that align with enterprise strategy, policy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with domain data leaders and practitioners to identify data problems and use cases that can fuel operational reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain data products, handle data definitions in the enterprise data catalog, measure and supervise data quality, and ensure data protection.
  • Build intake assessments and implement prioritization frameworks to identify key use cases and domains for investment.
  • Develop playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data stewards to implement data governance and data management using enterprise tools.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree or equivalent experience in information management or library and science is preferred.
  • 6-8 years of validated experience in large data transformations focusing on data governance and data privacy.
  • Extensive knowledge of data management and data governance principles, implementations, and latest industry trends.
  • Demonstrable ability to handle multiple business customers, including actively engaging and aligning with enterprise senior leadership to drive data governance initiatives and strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to empower and guide multi-functional teams effectively.
  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Consulting or product management experiences.
  • Proficiency in metadata and data quality tools like Atlan, Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Atacama, Talend, etc.
