We are currently seeking a Crew Leader for our Distribution team. This position operates on the Night - C Shift (Monday-Friday, 11:00pm-7:20am).

As the leader of the midnight shift team, the Crew Leader exemplifies team leadership within the McCormick High Performance System (MHPS) framework. The Crew Leader is responsible for the overall performance of a team managing 3-4 production lines, focusing on safety, quality, process reliability, sanitation, GMP compliance, and material yield. This role actively promotes continuous improvement and daily problem-solving initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.

The incumbent must effectively coach, train, and ensure 100% compliance with established procedures (including safety, work rules, and sanitation guidelines) while demonstrating profound respect for the capabilities of all individuals, adhering to McCormick's Shared Values. They must structure their approach based on the belief that the company's success relies on the contributions of all employees.

Key Responsibilities:


• Lead by example, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety and Human Resources policies

• Utilize the McCormick High Performance System (MHPS) to engage team members and foster teamwork

• Plan, direct, and support daily activities of team members to meet goals and business initiatives. Ensure employees are trained for tasks assigned by the Crew Leader.

• Lead Tier 1 HPO activities, ensuring a safe, clean, organized, and defect-free environment at all times

• Remove barriers to team performance, demonstrating urgency and ownership in problem resolution. Most work will be performed on production lines.

• Facilitate daily team huddles and weekly meetings, maintaining communication with the Team Manager for effective oversight of team and line performance.

• Ensure key performance indicators are met (M/L, C/O targets, PR, TIR)

• Ensure operational procedures (SOPs), baselines (CBAs), and best practices (OPLs) are consistently followed

• Resolve daily issues and minor mechanical problems, coordinating with maintenance for non-routine adjustments

• Provide input for evaluations and development/training plans for team members, effectively managing team interactions, including conflict resolution

• Report any employee injuries to HR immediately and complete accident/incident reports when necessary

• Responsible for on-the-job training of new and existing employees, building technical and business competencies within the team.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to share resources and support overall plant objectives

• Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, including PDCA and root cause analysis

• Occasionally complete administrative tasks and reports when the Team Manager is unavailable

• May perform other duties as assigned

• Availability for overtime (pre or post shift and weekends) is required.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum three years of manufacturing/industrial experience or equivalent education

• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of packaging/processing equipment preferred

• Successful completion of Mechanical Aptitude testing

• Valid driver's license required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is an asset

• Ability to assess the financial impact of business decisions on staffing, product components, inventory, etc.

• Demonstrated leadership principles with formal training preferred

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for risk assessment

• Knowledge of packaging/processing equipment and the importance of PM, AM, and TPM processes

• Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning tools

• Proven ability to operate all equipment in the business, including Forklift.
