Logistics Supervisor - Role Overview:

The Logistics Supervisor will play a crucial role in supporting the development of CanAlaska's exploration initiatives, primarily within Saskatchewan, Canada. This position entails overseeing the management of the Company's assets, equipment, and warehouse facilities to facilitate exploration activities. The successful candidate will assist in executing exploration projects on CanAlaska's properties by coordinating logistics, scheduling, vehicle and equipment upkeep, and addressing the needs of ongoing projects. Additionally, the role involves participating in the collection and analysis of geotechnical and geological data, ensuring quality control and assurance for data related to active exploration efforts. The position requires remote work on a rotational basis between the office and field sites during active drilling operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the VP Exploration, the responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the maintenance of the Company's warehouse, specialized exploration equipment, and supply chain to effectively execute field-based initiatives.
  • Coordinating repair and maintenance for both routine and specialized field equipment as necessary.
  • Managing and maintaining the Company's specialized fleet of downhole geophysical probing instruments.
  • Developing and updating an asset database for all equipment owned and operated by the Company.
  • Assisting in the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and contractors to ensure the successful execution of exploration projects.
  • Coordinating flights, fuel, logistics, and materials as required by the Project Geologist to support the Company's active exploration initiatives.
  • Providing geotechnical expertise to the Company's exploration projects through geotechnical logging, sampling, QAQC, and radiometric probing during field operations.
  • Supervising and collaborating with contractors to ensure adherence to best practices and compliance with Health and Safety protocols.
  • Assisting in the management and enforcement of the Company's Health and Safety program.
  • Complying with company policies, procedures, and standards, focusing on health, safety, community engagement, and environmental stewardship.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Geological Technician Diploma or equivalent degree, or relevant experience.
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in early to advanced-stage exploration (preferably uranium).
  • A strong understanding of downhole geophysical probing equipment, including maintenance, calibration, and repair.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced remote environment.
  • Experience working in field rotations in remote settings to support exploration activities.
  • A solid understanding of exploration camp logistics, procurement, and operations.
  • The capability to lift and carry 35 – 50 lbs.
  • Technical writing and presentation skills (primarily in Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in maintaining asset databases and inventory management.
  • Experience in creating, updating, and implementing Health and Safety standard operating procedures.
  • A self-motivated approach, capable of working independently to troubleshoot and resolve issues in remote locations.
  • A proven commitment to workplace safety and leadership in safety practices.
  • Strong leadership and team operational skills.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Location:

This position will be based in the Saskatoon office, with regular work rotations to project sites during exploration programs.
