Job Title: Legal Debt Collector

At Linds & Associates, we are seeking a skilled Debt Collector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a collections background, be a confident and organized self-starter, and be prepared to work proactively on files with the lawyers they support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all debt collection duties in collaboration with the recovery teams
  • Negotiate settlement agreements on behalf of large organizations
  • Answer phone calls and follow-up on inquiries regarding files assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience working in a similar role
  • Collection agency experience would be an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately
  • Perseverance to maintain pressure for payment upon difficult accounts
  • Detail oriented with strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work under pressure
  • Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of Quickbooks would be considered an asset
