Diagnostic Imaging Clerk Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager of Operations, the Diagnostic Imaging Clerk plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving and processing requisitions for diagnostic imaging examinations
  • Scheduling examinations using the Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Acting as a receptionist to patients, providing excellent customer service
  • Obtaining, entering, and updating patient/film information and registering patients on the computer system
  • Retrieving digital images, filing, and retrieving DI films/digital images and CDs/DVDs
  • Providing digital images/films to physicians upon request
  • Sending digital images/films and/or reports to various facilities
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
  • Previous PACS experience an asset
  • Successful completion of a recognized Medical Administrative Assistant Program or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Keyboard speed of 35 wpm
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to retain confidential information
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
