Job Summary:

The Town of Halton Hills is seeking a skilled Theatre Technician to assist with the technical aspects of theatre productions. This part-time position will work evenings, weekends, and some holiday hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of audience members and event performers at events
  • Act as Fire Warden in the event of a fire emergency
  • Coordinate technical aspects of events to ensure timely completion
  • Assist clients with backstage areas during events
  • Operate lighting and sound equipment or assist backstage during events
  • Maintain the cleanliness of theatre backstage areas
  • Ensure technical equipment is in good working order
  • Provide information to patrons and clients about events
  • Perform other job-related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • College certificate in Stage Technical discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in theatre backstage environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of theatre operations
  • Understanding of electrical theory
  • Motivation and willingness to show initiative
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of the Town's performing arts groups and other community networks is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good work and performance record
  • Ability to complete physical duties of the position

Compensation:

The rate for this position is $22.03 - $26.22 per hour.
