Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Financial Analytics Functional Analyst

Our Data & Analytics – FAA Team is seeking a dedicated Analyst who specializes in metrics standardization and financial reporting. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive on tackling intricate challenges within an AGILE team environment. You will collaborate closely with the Financial Planning team, delivering insightful analyses and supporting strategic outcomes, including the development of visualizations for key metrics. We are looking for a candidate with a strong interest in in-depth analysis and process enhancement, eager to assist stakeholders in embracing innovative tools and technologies. A solid background in data management or data visualization is preferred, along with experience in SQL, Tableau Server, Power BI, MicroStrategy, or ThoughtSpot.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert functional support to meet business requirements and maximize application utilization. Serve as the primary liaison for business users across VCH and/or PHC, collaborating with stakeholders in other departments for issue resolution, testing, and ongoing process improvement. Offer technical guidance to Analysts and team members in reporting, auditing, and testing, while prioritizing projects to meet timelines. Represent the department in system meetings, ensuring effective communication between user departments and technical IMIS team members. Configure system modifications and prepare documentation for changes affecting system processing and shared modules. Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine and implement best practices, participating in business case preparation and process re-engineering initiatives. Develop and maintain training materials and documentation for new systems/processes to ensure effective knowledge transfer and consistent user engagement. Facilitate training sessions and provide individualized support. Actively promote Business Systems & Integrations, fostering relationships with stakeholders to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration. Write queries to customize reports according to user needs and conduct system audits to ensure data integrity. Identify opportunities for system enhancements and make recommendations to ensure developed solutions meet agreed-upon requirements. Stay informed about new and upcoming system functionalities. Adhere to health and safety protocols, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, supplemented by courses in Information Systems. A minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in a large organization, focusing on business systems and reporting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive experience with complex business systems, project planning, and control is essential.

Knowledge & Skills

Demonstrates expertise in business system modules relevant to the designated area (Employee Engagement/HR, Scheduling & Timekeeping, Finance, Supply Chain, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Revenue Services), maintaining an understanding of interdependencies with other modules. Utilizes knowledge of business functions and processes to enhance efficiency through enterprise application systems. Exhibits a strong sense of ownership and a results-oriented mindset to continuously improve processes and systems. Communicates effectively and establishes strong channels of communication with stakeholders. Applies solid technical and troubleshooting skills in providing Business Systems & Integrations support. Demonstrates initiative, self-direction, and problem-solving abilities to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Keeps abreast of technological advancements, anticipating opportunities and ensuring readiness for future changes. Possesses the physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
