Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize all food preparation and serving areas, including dishwashers, carts, and waste disposal units.
    • Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Food Preparation
    • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet the dietary needs of our residents.
  • Inventory Management
    • Stock refrigerators and salad bars with fresh produce and supplies.
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Housekeeping
    • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash to prevent pest infestations and maintain a clean environment.
  • Teamwork
    • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure seamless service and high-quality food preparation.
    • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and vendors to ensure their needs are met.
Work Environment

As a Food Service Attendant at The Good Samaritan Society, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of customer interaction. You will be required to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks.

Requirements
  • Education
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Experience
    • Will train on the job to ensure you have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the duties of a Food Service Attendant.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Efficient interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.
    • Reliability to ensure seamless service and high-quality food preparation.
    • Team player to work collaboratively with the culinary team.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position with 35 hours of work per week. The work language is English.
