About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Farm Laborer to join our team at Sumas Mountain Farms. As a Farm Laborer, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our farm, ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock and the maintenance of our farm equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Care: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas, handle animals, monitor animal health, perform livestock feeding, and tend to animals.
  • Farm Maintenance: Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, maintain livestock performance records, and maintain work records and logs.
  • General Farm Duties: Perform general farm duties, including writing daily basic progress reports.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Farm Laborer will work in a rural area, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The role requires the ability to work independently, under pressure, and with attention to detail.

Personal Qualities and Skills
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Organizational Skills: The ability to work in a team environment and be organized is crucial.
  • Physical Demands: The Farm Laborer must be physically fit and able to perform the demands of the role.
Work Terms and Conditions

The Farm Laborer will work on a permanent basis, with a regular working week of 25 to 30 hours. The work language is English.
