Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Reporting to: Street Level Team Lead
  • Number of Positions: 1

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for individuals seeking assistance, delivering exceptional service that promotes dignity and equity.
  • Utilize a person-centered approach to motivate guests in accessing resources and services that align with their personal goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, volunteers, and visitors to create a supportive atmosphere.
  • Address crises promptly, employing de-escalation techniques and assisting individuals in exploring constructive alternatives.
  • Support daily meal programs and ensure a clean, safe environment for all participants.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards as mandated by relevant legislation.
  • Employ case management and advocacy strategies to assist participants in achieving both short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Engage in community programming initiatives, including workshops and support groups.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and initiative in assessing situations and making informed decisions.
  • Participate in ongoing training and team meetings to enhance service delivery.
  • Document interactions and maintain accurate records, including incident reports.
  • Respect personal boundaries while fostering positive relationships with participants.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with marginalized populations.
  • Experience in inner-city environments or with disadvantaged groups is preferred.
  • A strong commitment to addressing homelessness and supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Proficient in case management and advocacy techniques.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • Willingness to engage in a faith-based community service environment.

Working Conditions:

  • This role requires a compassionate approach, physical activity, and the ability to manage conflict effectively.
  • Expect a dynamic work environment that demands mental agility and emotional resilience.
  • Training in communication tools and software will be provided.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and engage in both indoor and outdoor activities.
