About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Student to join our team at Magna Exteriors. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting the standardization of work instructions and process improvements.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Process Analysis and Improvement: Conduct time studies using observation sheets and analyze data to identify areas for improvement. Create and analyze standardized work combination tables, charts, and balance tables to optimize manufacturing processes.
  2. Process Stability and Repeatability: Ensure that manufacturing processes consistently meet productivity, quality, cost, lead time, safety, and environmental targets. Identify and prioritize areas for improvement and develop standard work procedures to achieve process stability.
  3. Audit and Compliance: Conduct audits to identify weaknesses and problems in manufacturing processes and develop corrective actions to address them. Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements, including quality management systems (QMS), health and safety standards, environmental management systems (EMS), and security protocols.
  4. Training and Development: Provide training to operators on standardized work procedures and ensure that they are equipped to perform their tasks efficiently and effectively. Create and maintain cycle and long-cycle work instructions to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and develop solutions to address them. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and ensure that they are effective in achieving business objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Currently enrolled in a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering program at a college or university.
  • Skills: Adaptability, communication, presentation, moderation, continuous improvement, problem-solving, innovation, creativity, integrity, performance under pressure, project management, responsibility, initiative, self-development, and decision-making.
  • Experience: Good communication and interpersonal skills, excellent computer skills, and strong organizational and analytical abilities.
