Overview

The Assistant Manager position is a management role that requires moving to a designated area in either Nunavut, Northwest Territories, or Yukon. The comprehensive compensation package for permanent positions includes: a competitive salary, subsidized accommodation, relocation support, Northern Living Allowance, annual leave, Northern Travel Allowance, a pension plan with employer matching, and an extensive group benefits package. (Depending on qualifications and experience, there may be opportunities for temporary management roles, which come with a different compensation structure than permanent positions.)

Required Qualifications


• A minimum of three to five years of experience in retail management, specifically in food and non-food sectors.
• Familiarity with computerized systems, including the administration and operation of Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Proficiency in office software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.
• Strong financial oversight abilities, including the capacity to review and interpret financial reports.
• Skills in managing inventory, placing orders, and pricing products to meet gross margin objectives;
• Exceptional personnel management capabilities, including recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, correcting, developing, and enhancing staff performance in a diverse cultural setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Inuktitut is considered a significant advantage.
• Experience with co-operatives and collaboration with Boards of Directors is beneficial.
