Job Summary
The Clinical Research Associate (CRA) is a key member of the Clinical Trials Department at Hamilton Health Sciences, an internationally recognized oncology research program. The CRA is responsible for the organization, administration, and coordination of assigned clinical research tasks, ensuring the quality and integrity of clinical trial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage clinical research studies, including startup procedures, patient recruitment, and data collection
- Monitor study compliance and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate patient recruitment and participation in clinical research
- Develop and maintain effective data flow systems
- Provide excellent customer service and communication with patients, researchers, and other stakeholders
Requirements
- Graduate of a Community College Secretarial/Office Administrative Diploma Program or equivalent
- Minimum of three years recent experience in an oncology-related environment
- Minimum two years recent clinical research experience or equivalent education
- Certification as a Clinical Research Professional or Clinical Research Coordinator, preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of ICH GCP, Health Canada Food and Drug Regulations, and the US FDA Code of Federal Regulations
- Working knowledge of cancer, human anatomy, and physiology, diagnostic and pathologic tests results, cancer treatments and side effects, and disease-related symptoms
- Medical terminology (Levels 1 & 2 or equivalent subject to testing)
- Highly proficient in MS Office and data base applications
- Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent organizational skills, with a high degree of motivation and self-directedness
- Demonstrated ability in patient assessment, teaching, and counseling
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and perform multiple concurrent tasks
- Ability to travel between HHS sites to support off-site investigators conducting oncology studies
