Project Manager – Hazardous MaterialsWe are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join our dynamic Consulting Team in Victoria. This role offers the opportunity to oversee projects involving the assessment and monitoring of various workplaces and buildings throughout British Columbia.
Your Responsibilities:- Lead hazardous materials projects from inception to completion, encompassing client interaction, scope definition, budget development, resource allocation, execution oversight, technical support, report generation, financial performance monitoring, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to determine and fulfill project requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors engaged in abatement activities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their professional development and career advancement.
- Deliver training and support to junior staff on operational procedures and technical report writing.
- Maintain and enhance quality control measures in accordance with established company protocols.
- Work closely with project managers from other divisions and offices to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Cultivate and nurture positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Technical diploma in Health & Safety, Construction, Architecture, Environmental Science OR Bachelor's degree/diploma in Science/Applied Science or a related field.
- 1-3 years of project management experience in hazardous materials or a similar domain.
- Familiarity with BC and federal health, safety, and hazardous material regulations.
- Valid Driver's License, Insurance, and personal vehicle for work-related travel (compensated).
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Flexibility to work beyond regular business hours when necessary.
- Preferred experience includes professional designations, familiarity with building systems, liaising with government bodies, and knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
