Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary
This role is responsible for maintaining the operation and management of all aspects of maintenance inside and outside the building, ensuring a safe work environment and adhering to safety protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintenance within the building, including equipment operation and management.
- Maintaining all equipment of the home, including painting and general repairs.
- Cleaning shop, mechanical, and electrical rooms.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Maintaining Home grounds, including painting outside of Home and cleaning outside windows where accessible.
- Collecting garbage within the Home.
Requirements
- Must be a registered full-time student during the preceding academic year and be returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
- Must be able to read and write, follow oral and written instructions, and be open-minded to learn practical skills through experience.
- Must be reliable, conscientious, and neat, showing courtesy and tact with residents and all staff.
- Must be adaptable and willing to perform a variety of tasks as assigned.
- Must have a certain amount of speed and accuracy in work.
- Must be alert to unsafe conditions and correct or report same.
- Must have the ability to maintain high standards of operation.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening within the past 6 months.
Position Details
Anticipated length: May - August 2024
Hours per week may fluctuate. Some evenings and weekends are required.
