Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a vital member of our healthcare team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As an LPN, you will apply the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health within a people-centered care approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health
- Work to full scope of practice, engaging in ongoing education and maintaining competency congruent with organizational policies, Professional Standards of Practice, College of Licensed Practical Nurse guidelines, Code of Ethics, Competency Profile for Licensed Practical Nurses, and relevant regulations
- Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed, and action to be taken on unusual matters
- Function in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization
Requirements:
- Proficiency in English and French is necessary
- Active registration with the relevant licensing body
- Current BLS, ACLS, CTAS, and TNCC certification
- Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics, and Competency Profile
- Ability to foster collaboration, establish positive relationships, and resolve conflicts
- Effective communication skills, analytical thinking, and decision-making ability
- Organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to meet job demands
- Commitment to professional growth and ongoing competence
- Respect for confidentiality and diversity
- Good attendance record and work ethic
