At The Coalition Studio, known for our work on the celebrated Gears of War series, we are at the forefront of addressing these challenges by enhancing engine technology, creating efficient workflows, and supporting globally distributed development teams.
In the role of Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial part in a top-tier Engine and Game Development team. We seek individuals with strong C++ programming skills, experience with Unreal Engine (UE4), and familiarity with version control systems like Perforce. A passion for problem-solving and a broad understanding of various technical domains such as Rendering, Systems, Audio, Gameplay, and Animation is essential.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, along with a minimum of 4 years of software development experience for modern console or PC games using C++, or equivalent expertise.
- At least 3 years of experience in designing and optimizing multithreaded systems.
- Proficiency with Unreal Engine.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams within a game studio.
- Experience in integrating and maintaining third-party game technology SDKs.
- Proficiency in Python or other widely-used high-level scripting languages.
- Familiarity with C#/.Net frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Integrate new versions of third-party software into our existing development framework.
- Collaborate with fellow Engineers to design, modify, and enhance systems as necessary.
- Stay informed about upcoming changes and consult with colleagues regarding these updates.
- Actively work to minimize the need for engine modifications by collaborating with third-party developers to integrate our changes into the standard engine.
- Partner with the infrastructure team to enhance overall team efficiency.
- Conduct profiling and optimization efforts focusing on low-level performance, streaming, and memory management.
