Company Overview: REMCAN Projects LP is a comprehensive contractor dedicated to the railway sector. Our goal is to provide safe, innovative, and environmentally responsible maintenance and construction services to railway track proprietors and operators throughout Canada.

Position Summary: We are seeking skilled Mark IV Tamper Operators across Canada. This role involves travel to various locations within your province and potentially other regions in the country.

Job Type: Full-time, Seasonal

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit expertise in all facets of Tamper and Regulator operations, including track alignment and inspection.
  • Conduct mechanical and safety inspections as necessary and perform required maintenance and repairs.
  • Handle various administrative duties related to production reporting, timekeeping, and more.
  • Engage in general labor alongside the crew as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to all REMCAN and client safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 or Class G driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the railway industry.
  • At least 1 year of experience operating a Mark IV Tamper.
  • Ability to pass all required railway operating rules examinations.
  • Capability to obtain eRailSafe Canada certification.
  • Pass a pre-employment medical examination, including drug and alcohol screening.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and nights.
  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions year-round.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • First Aid and WHMIS certifications are advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel to remote work sites as necessary.
