Job Title: Control Systems Engineer

Join the Vancouver Airport Authority team as a Control Systems Engineer and play a key role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our baggage handling systems.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our Baggage Operations team. As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our SCADA/PLC systems, ensuring they operate at optimal levels and meet the highest standards of reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to improve system performance and reliability
  • Lead projects to upgrade and maintain SCADA/PLC systems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and resolve technical issues, providing expert guidance and support
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, configurations, and maintenance procedures
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of post-secondary education in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of recent experience in SCADA/PLC systems, with a strong background in system design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Expert knowledge of SCADA/PLC technologies and systems
  • Proven experience in project management, with a strong focus on delivering results on time and within budget
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
