At Fairmont Banff Springs, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Housekeeping Director to join our team. As a key member of our Housekeeping department, you will be responsible for leading and coaching a team of approximately 185 colleagues in our 757-room hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and implement departmental goals, measurements, and results in collaboration with the Director of Housekeeping.
  • Promote high morale and recognize colleagues for their contributions.
  • Organize and participate in colleague recognition events.
  • Coach, develop, and manage the performance of the Housekeeping team.
  • Plan and organize deep cleaning cycles and projects for guest rooms and public areas.
  • Track and address guest comments and concerns.
  • Monitor labor costs and ensure effective resource scheduling, vacation planning, and department productivity.
  • Provide necessary resources, tools, and equipment to support the team.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and promote a culture of safety.
  • Monitor and revise departmental health and safety tools, policies, and practices.
  • Enhance and monitor departmental environmental initiatives and recycling programs.
  • Interact effectively with all hotel departments.
Requirements:
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a large team.
  • Highly organized with a proactive approach to getting the job done.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Supervisory or Manager role in Housekeeping or Front Office in a luxury hotel.
  • Computer literacy in Property Manager and Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Experience with Hotsos program is an asset.
  • University degree or college diploma in hospitality management is an asset.
