Job Title: Health and Safety Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team at Chezranti Community Centre Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, clients, and visitors. This includes conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, and providing training and guidance to staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures, including emergency response plans and first aid procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement health and safety strategies and initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics, including injury and illness rates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry partners.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards, including OHSAS 18001 and ISO 45001.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.

  • Occasional travel required, including attendance at industry events and conferences.

Experience:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a health and safety role.
