The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Landscape Technologist / Site Inspector / Project Manager to join our team at our Kelowna location. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of our landscape projects, from initial planning and design to construction and final inspection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections, site inventory, observations, and assist in construction contract administration.
  • Detect any issues, discrepancies, or deviations from project plans during inspections. Prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings to project managers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct quantity assessments and provide cost estimates.
  • Communicate with suppliers, contractors, and team members to advance projects.
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Undertake general professional duties as required to support the landscape designer or landscape architect lead in progressing and advancing project deliverables.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company standards and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology or a degree in a related field with transferable technical skills.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in landscape architecture or design, with previous experience as a Landscape Architectural Technologist or Designer preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape project management and site inspection.
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks Landmark. Additional proficiency in AutoCAD LandFX would be highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques, contract documents, construction detailing, materials, and best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment both independently and collectively, demonstrating good interpersonal skills and organizational abilities.
  • Capacity to liaise with other professional disciplines, approving agencies, and municipal authorities, building strong relationships and facilitating project approvals is desirable.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.

  • Membership or eligibility with relevant professional associations (e.g., AALA, BCSLA) is desirable, reflecting a commitment to professional development and industry standards.
  • Deltek Vantagepoint experience.
