Job Summary:

The Supportive Housing Advisor plays a critical role in administering funding and reviewing the effectiveness of Non-Profit Societies responsible for delivering housing and support programs. This position requires a high degree of financial oversight and risk mitigation, as well as the ability to build and facilitate strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer funding and review the effectiveness of Non-Profit Societies responsible for delivering housing and support programs.
  • Approve significant operating budgets that include multiple funding sources.
  • Make recommendations regarding program implementation and provide financial oversight and risk mitigation.
  • Provide housing program expertise through a collaborative approach that recognizes and adapts to the expertise and capacity of service providers.
  • Build and facilitate strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including Non-Profit Societies, government agencies, and private sector organizations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience at a senior level in Non-Profit society management and/or social services delivery.
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of the philosophies, principles, practices, and standards associated with the delivery of government social and regulatory programs by Non-Profit Societies and contracted community service providers.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.

Working Environment:

The Supportive Housing Advisor will work in an environment that involves multiple stakeholders, including private and Non-Profit advocacy groups, municipal, provincial, private sector, and federal agencies with diverse agendas and special interests.
