Position: Head of Educational Leadership at Classical Christian Schools
IDEAL CANDIDATE:- Should possess a deep commitment to faith and a proven track record of dedication.
- Must have a fervent interest in church-related education, perceiving it as an extension of the church's mission.
- Should envision a dynamic educational environment that fosters learning, community engagement, and spiritual growth.
- Must demonstrate exceptional leadership and organizational capabilities.
- Ideally, should have prior experience in a classical Christian educational setting.
Direct and manage the daily functions of Classical Christian Schools to achieve its mission.
MISSION OF CLASSICAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS:
To partner with families and support local congregations in educating, inspiring, and equipping a generation to understand, love, and live for Christ.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:The Head of Educational Leadership will be responsible for overseeing, guiding, and effectively managing the daily operations of the institution.
This role includes leading the planning, execution, and evaluation of all aspects of the school's administration, including operations, personnel management, and the implementation of strategies, objectives, programs, and policies that align with the church's vision.
The Head should be well-versed in the Church's Policies and Procedures, ensuring that all decisions and initiatives comply with the Church's governing documents.
REQUIREMENTS:The ideal candidate must be a devoted Christian with a calling for educational ministry and a genuine concern for families.
It is essential for the Head to be an active participant in a church that upholds biblical truths and aligns with established faith statements.
The candidate should also support and embody the Vision and Mission Statements of the institution. A master's degree, particularly in Christian Education, is required. Preferably, a minimum of five (5) years of educational experience and certification as a Christian School Administrator is desired. Previous experience in a classical Christian School is highly advantageous. The Head must exhibit strong leadership, excellent interpersonal skills, and superior decision-making abilities.The candidate should maintain a reputation for integrity and character, consistently seeking divine guidance through prayer, and embodying high standards of Christian ethics and values.
The Head should possess effective verbal and written communication skills, conveying information with authority while maintaining a caring and compassionate approach towards students, staff, and all personnel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position involves primarily sedentary tasks, with occasional walking or standing, and may require lifting up to 40 pounds intermittently. Accommodations can be made for individuals with specific physical needs.
STAFF COLLABORATION:
The Head of Educational Leadership will report to and be supervised by the school board and the Church Administrative Officer.
SPECIFIC TASKS:I. MANAGEMENT OF THE OVERALL SCHOOL PROGRAM
A. Develop and maintain a comprehensive academic calendar in alignment with other church ministries.
B. Organize and oversee faculty and staff orientation sessions, and regularly engage with school personnel and the school board.
II. RECRUITMENT AND SUPERVISION OF STAFF
A. Lead the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and termination processes for all teaching and administrative staff.
B. Supervise all academic and non-academic personnel. Conduct annual performance evaluations for all staff.
C. Monitor certification and licensure status of teachers.
III. ACADEMIC GUIDANCE
A. Ensure that the curriculum meets current educational standards and accreditation criteria.
Guide the administration and staff in utilizing student assessment data to identify academic strengths and areas for improvement.
B. Maintain certifications and stay updated on developments in classical Christian education through ongoing professional development.C. Assess teacher needs, arrange conferences, provide in-service training, and support further studies as necessary.
D. Understand accreditation requirements and college entrance criteria, integrating them into the curriculum.
E. Enhance and refine classical curriculum and training programs for educators.
F. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
IV. BUDGET PLANNING
A. Collaborate with the Church Administrative Officer to develop the school's annual budget, subject to approval by the school board.
B. Approve and manage income and expenses within the school's budget, adhering to procurement policies.
C. Provide regular updates on the school's status to the school board and church leadership.
V. SCHOOL POLICIES
A.
Responsible for enforcing all school policies, including enrollment and admissions, fee schedules, personnel regulations, and curriculum.
VI. FACILITIES AND SUPPLIESA.
Ensure an environment conducive to effective learning, with appropriate resources and equipment to support quality education.
B. Maintain adequate supplies for administrative and classroom use.C. Coordinate with the Facilities Director regarding cleaning and maintenance needs.
VII. PARENTAL ENGAGEMENT
A. Organize Parent-Teacher meetings to address the needs of the school community. Ensure consistent and timely communication between all staff and parents.
B. Develop strategies to empower parents in their educational roles.
C. Conduct regular surveys to gather feedback from parents.
VIII. CHURCH CONNECTIONS
A. Maintain strong relationships with the church community.
Regularly update the church on the school's activities.
Support and collaborate with teachers in relation to church personnel involved in various programs utilizing shared resources.
Work towards sharing resources with church program organizations whenever feasible.B. Coordinate chapel programs aligned with student and staff needs.
C. Provide Christ-centered counseling for students and staff as needed.
IX. STUDENT ENROLLMENT AND PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
A. Manage student recruitment, retention, admission, discipline, and necessary expulsions.
B. Educate parents on the school's vision, objectives, and mission.
X. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Perform any other duties assigned by the Church Administrative Officer.
