Production Manager

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the production line performance, collaborating with other departments and business partners to drive improvement. Key responsibilities include developing the supervisor team, production labor management, and supporting key plant functions to meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Drive production line efficiencies and manage line cost and yields to achieve improvement.
- Identify and close gaps in the Production department and extended business scopes, working with internal and external business partners.
- Monitor and develop labor models to achieve optimal labor utilization.
- Collaborate with other departments for continuous line performance improvement.
- Lead and develop the Production Supervisor team to optimize team structure and achieve high-performance results.
- Improve employee training programs to support business development.
- Lead and support the team to achieve success in all business requirements, including Food Safety, Health and Safety, and Saputo Culture reinforcement.
- Manage employee relationships to promote a positive working environment.
- Empower employees and hold them accountable to drive and improve employee performance.
- Work with Plant Managers to maintain strong relationships with the current Union.
- Post-secondary education in Operations Management or a related field.
- Strong manufacturing working experience and food packaging experience is preferred.
- 5-10 years of supervisory/management experience in a fast-paced unionized working environment.
- Proven ability to build and develop a high-performance team.
- Lean Six Sigma training experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety policies is preferred.
- Independent, analytical, and data-driven.
- Passionate, structured, and strong organizational skills.
- Team player with strong collaboration skills.
- Champion of clear communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, with a high degree of initiative and ability to work well under pressure.
- Available to work a flexible work week.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.
