Job Summary

PolarPak Company is seeking a highly skilled Setup Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting higher-level technicians in performing machine and tool setups on thermoforming machines and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians in performing machine and tool setups, ensuring optimal production efficiency and quality.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to enhance production processes and reduce downtime.
  • Prepare tools and equipment for production, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
  • Perform process troubleshooting and maintenance on thermoforming machines and related systems, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Support sample making activities, ensuring accurate and timely production of samples.
  • Conduct product qualification processes to ensure conformance with prescribed quality standards, maintaining high levels of quality and accuracy.
  • Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles and company safety policies.
  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, complying with company safety and quality policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of mechanical and control functions of machines, with a strong technical aptitude.
  • Technical school course in Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience in thermoforming/plastics processing.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, with the ability to lift and move products/parts/boxes when required.
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments, such as Vernier Calipers and Micrometers.
  • Knowledge of plastic molds, including handling and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work in a 12-hour continental shift with bi-monthly rotation, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
