About the Role

As a Setup Technician at PolarPak Company, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our thermoforming machines are operating efficiently and producing high-quality products. You'll work closely with experienced technicians to set up and maintain these complex systems, contributing directly to our production success.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians in setting up and adjusting thermoforming machines and related equipment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and product quality.
  • Prepare tools and materials for production runs, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Troubleshoot issues with thermoforming machines and associated systems, identifying and resolving problems promptly.
  • Support the creation of samples, collaborating with engineers and designers to test new products and processes.
  • Conduct product qualification procedures to verify that finished goods meet established quality standards.
  • Adhere strictly to lockout/tagout protocols for safe equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles for optimal workspace efficiency.
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks, complying with PolarPak Company's Safety and Quality (GMP) policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What We Look For

  • A solid understanding of mechanical and control systems within manufacturing equipment.
  • Technical training in a related field (Mechanical Technology, Junior Millwright) or 1-2 years of experience in thermoforming/plastics processing.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Physical capability to lift and move product, parts, and boxes as needed.
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers and micrometers.
  • Familiarity with plastic molds (handling and maintenance) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • Flexibility to work on a 12-hour continental shift with bi-monthly rotation.
