Position Overview

We are currently seeking two Automation Maintenance Technicians to join our team. These positions are essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our production and maintenance teams, meeting the demands of a fast-paced environment. Collaboration with various departments is crucial for success in this role. Flexibility to work different shifts and participate in on-call duties is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and address safety hazards and rectify unsafe conditions.
  • Perform maintenance on assembly machinery according to established schedules, suggesting improvements as necessary.
  • Respond swiftly to equipment breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime through effective troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, communicating potential enhancements through appropriate channels.
  • Document maintenance activities and repairs accurately.
  • Assist with the start-up and change-over of production equipment as needed.
  • Support the commissioning and start-up of new machinery.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology with a focus on Automation & Robotics, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in PLC-based systems and machine logic.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing assembly machinery.
  • Ability to diagnose issues in pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Competence in selecting and installing various machine components.
  • Familiarity with machining tools and equipment, including both powered and manual tools.
  • Capability to interpret and update technical drawings for machinery.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and machine guarding requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OMRON PLC programming.
  • Knowledge of vision systems and sensors installation and troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to pursue Millwright Apprenticeship or Red Seal Certification.
