Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled professional to become a part of our team as a Surfacing Supervisor. In this capacity, you will be tasked with leading and managing the surfacing division, establishing objectives for the team, and ensuring the quality of work aligns with industry standards. You will work closely with artists, technical artists, and engineering teams to meet performance and memory benchmarks for in-game textures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee segments of the surfacing division
  • Direct the Surfacing team
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on the work of surfacing artists
  • Collaborate with technical artists and engineering teams to set performance objectives
  • Partner with artists to refine character materials while adhering to artistic direction
  • Decompose high-level artistic goals into manageable tasks

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in video game development
  • Proven experience delivering surfacing content for console/PC games
  • Expertise in tools such as Substance Designer & Painter, ZBrush, and Maya
  • Capability to prototype various surfacing methods
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Degree in Fine Arts, Visual Design, Animation, or a related discipline
  • Portfolio or demo reel link is mandatory
