Job Title: Personal Support Worker

Spectrum Health Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing personal care and support to our patients, enabling them to recover safely from an acute illness or remain in their homes throughout the aging process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, skincare, and light meal preparation.
  • Continuously assess, anticipate, and respond to new and changing needs of patients, communicating available resources to patients when appropriate.
  • Perform delegated and/or assigned tasks under the supervision of a Home Support Supervisor.
  • Travel within assigned regions between patients' residences or facilities.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin/Cantonese.
  • One of the following qualifications:
    • Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program.
    • RN/RPN Student with a minimum successful completion of year one of the program.
    • Internationally licensed Nurse, Midwife, or Physician.
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, crouching, kneeling, and reaching freely for extended periods, lifting 23 kg independently, and assisting clients with standing, walking, sitting.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check.
  • Updated immunization record, including TB Test (last 6 months).
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills (Additional language skills considered an asset).
