Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Operator to join our team at Gottardo Group of Companies. As a Building Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our commercial properties, including performing preventive maintenance, responding to tenant service calls, and overseeing the appearance and safety of the properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Tenant Service: Respond promptly to tenant service calls, including changing lights, heating/cooling calls, and other issues that may arise.
  • Property Appearance and Safety: Oversee the appearance and safety of the properties, including ensuring that all facilities are clean, well-maintained, and free from hazards.
  • Building Automation and Security: Operate and maintain building automation and security systems, including troubleshooting technical issues and providing solutions and recommendations.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractors and ensure they adhere to building guidelines and regulations.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with Operations Supervisor/Property Management on building and tenant issues.
  • Flexibility: Work staggered hours to suit the needs of building occupants, including statutory holidays, weekends, and overtime as required or assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in building operations, preferably in a commercial/office/industrial environment.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with safety and fire codes, WHMIS procedures, and all facets of building operations and maintenance. Proactive in identifying problems and resolving them. Excellent computer and communications skills.
