About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finish Carpenter to join our team at Skona Design Inc. As a Finish Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of finish work on our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials to exact specifications.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware to meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Train and supervise apprentices to ensure they meet the required standards of quality and safety.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects to ensure accurate budgeting and planning.
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including commercial, industrial and residential environments.
Requirements
  • 5 years or more of experience in the trade.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
  • Work will be performed in a variety of settings, including construction sites, warehouses and offices.
  • Work will be performed in a combination of sitting, standing and walking.
  • Work will be performed in a combination of indoor and outdoor environments.
