Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled finish carpenter to join our team at Skona Design Inc. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the trade and a strong background in measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Scheduling and coordinating work on sites.
  • Instructing apprentices.
  • Supervising other workers.
  • Estimating costs and materials.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in finish carpentry.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a variety of settings, including construction sites, mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants. The work environment will be noisy and dusty, and the candidate will be required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
