Job Summary

The Security Team Lead is a critical role within Paladin Security, responsible for overseeing the activities and job performance of Security Guards assigned to various healthcare facilities. As a representative of Paladin Security, the Security Team Lead must embody the company's values and promote a culture of excellence in security services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training to Security Guards to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance.
  • Ensure all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out as required for each shift, maintaining a high level of security and safety within the facility.
  • Enforce Paladin Security and site security policies and procedures, ensuring all staff adhere to these guidelines.
  • Plan and implement shift work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and minimize downtime.
  • Verify that all Security Guards have received the mandatory training and are equipped to handle various security situations.
  • Motivate staff and recognize outstanding performance, while also addressing any performance issues or concerns.
  • Discipline staff when necessary, ensuring proper documentation is maintained and communicated to head office.
  • Manage attendance and ensure all staff are aware of their responsibilities and expectations.
  • Conduct regular security audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate and document security incidents and complaints, providing recommendations for prevention and mitigation.
  • Perform proactive and reactive security patrols to maintain a high level of security and visibility within the facility.
  • Communicate effectively with the Client Service Manager to address any concerns or issues that may arise.

Requirements

  • Immunization Record for Covid-19, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and 2-Step TB Skin Test.
  • A Valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid & CPR – Level C.
  • At least two years' of security experience in healthcare, with a preference for experience in mental health.
  • Post Secondary education in a law enforcement/security program from a recognized college would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB).
