Job Summary

Thales Canada is seeking a highly skilled Security Manager to lead our corporate security function. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall security and compliance of our operations, assets, and personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Strategy and Compliance
    • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
    • Manage and maintain security clearances, personnel security, and document safeguarding.
    • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Team Leadership and Management
    • Lead a team of security professionals to ensure the effective implementation of security policies and procedures.
    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to team members.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and effective security program.
  • Business Continuity and Emergency Response
    • Develop and maintain business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption in the event of an emergency or security incident.
    • Coordinate emergency response efforts and ensure timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Training and Awareness
    • Develop and deliver security training programs to ensure employees are aware of security policies and procedures.
    • Conduct regular security awareness campaigns to promote a security-conscious culture.
  • Reporting and Compliance
    • Prepare and submit regular security reports to management and government agencies.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Diploma or degree in a related field (e.g., business administration, commerce, security management).
    • 10+ years of experience in security management, preferably in a corporate or government setting.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong knowledge of security regulations, laws, and industry standards.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
    • Proficiency in security software and systems.
