Position Overview: HVS Hospitality Consulting is in search of recent graduates from hotel management programs who aspire to transition from traditional hotel roles into the vibrant field of hotel consulting and appraisal. A Bachelor's degree is a prerequisite for this role.
Diverse Daily Responsibilities: Our consultants engage with various hotels and markets across Eastern Canada, ensuring that no two days are the same. Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree and a minimum of six months of experience in the hotel sector. We are looking for self-motivated individuals eager to embark on a career path with growth potential, who thrive in a multicultural environment. Candidates with backgrounds in hotel revenue management or hotel accounting are particularly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct valuations of hotels and other hospitality-related income-generating properties, alongside supply-and-demand analyses.
• Prepare income and expense forecasts.
• Draft appraisals, market studies, feasibility assessments, and consulting reports.
• Utilize HVS models for analytical purposes.
• Perform fieldwork and property inspections as directed.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• Fundamental understanding of hotel operations.
• Ability to analyze hotel financial statements and market trends to develop reliable supply-and-demand forecasts.
• Collaborate effectively within a team to achieve both individual and office goals while maintaining flexibility.
• Prioritize tasks and organize work to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel frequently for local inspections.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficient organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced skills in Excel, with experience in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and proven problem-solving abilities.
• Valid driver's license.
Educational Background:
• Bachelor's degree in hotel or tourism administration.
• Experience in hotel operations ranging from six months to two years is preferred.
Work Environment:
Employees will primarily work in an office setting, with the expectation of traveling approximately 20%-40% of the time for fieldwork and property inspections.
