About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Grade School Ministries to join our Children's Ministry team at Willingdon Church. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging programs for children in grades 2-5, leading and supervising volunteers, and overseeing the resources and supplies needed to create a safe and clean environment for learning and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development: Develop and deliver all aspects of the HQ program for children in grades 2-5, including curriculum and family devotionals.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise all Small Group leaders, volunteers, and Kids Krew in the HQ program, ensuring a high standard of excellence in teaching the Gospel.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the resources, supplies, and rooms needed to create a safe, clean, and kid-friendly environment conducive to learning and growth in faith.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the integrity of our safety protocols for minors, including overseeing security clearances and criminal record checks.
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and develop volunteers to support the Children's Ministry team.
  • Ministry Relationships: Build ministry relationships with current parents, guardians, volunteers, and children in HQ, and seek out new families to connect them to the ministries of Willingdon Church.
  • Event Planning: Help the Team Leader plan and execute special events in Kids Min, including Daycamp, Under the Big Top, Family Christmas Breakfast, and others.
  • Professional Development: Stay current on Children's Ministry best practices and changes in the wider church globally.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in theology or education.
  • Experience: Children's ministry leadership experience, with a clear call to ministry to families and children.
  • Skills: Pastoral care skills, experience working with children, and demonstrated financial responsibility with budgeting and management of resources.
