The Department of Pediatric Anesthesia is seeking a qualified and experienced pediatric anesthesiologist, trained through a fellowship or equivalent program. This position requires simultaneous application to a related role in Pediatric Complex Pain, as the anesthesia component is a full-time equivalent (FTE) role and cannot be pursued independently. Candidates must fulfill all eligibility criteria for both positions.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about enhancing the clinical and academic standards of our department. Responsibilities will encompass all aspects of clinical anesthesia (excluding cardiac anesthesia) and active involvement in our acute pain service. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to our academic mission through quality improvement, education, research, and faculty development, and to engage actively in our Clinical and Research Fellowship Program.

Candidates must possess a medical degree and be eligible for licensure with the appropriate regulatory body. Anesthesia training must be recognized by the relevant professional college, and applicants should have completed subspecialty training in pediatric anesthesia, along with several years of practical experience in this field. Expertise in pediatric anesthesia within a tertiary/quaternary care setting is essential.

In addition to the standard qualifications, ideal candidates will bring one or both of the following:

  • Formal experience or training in clinical research
  • Formal experience or training in quality improvement

Successful applicants will be recommended for appointment to the Department of Anesthesia, Pharmacology and Therapeutics in the Faculty of Medicine. Academic rank will be determined based on qualifications and prior experience.
