About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Partner, Finance to join our team at CMHC - SCHL. As a key member of our Office of the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a critical role in providing financial guidance and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a proactive business partner, providing financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Promote a business-partnering dynamic, understanding both finance and business needs, and providing moderately complex analysis and advice guidance to clients.
  • Consult and share expertise with internal client groups, providing guidance, advice, and recommendations on special initiatives and unique business cases.
  • Provide advice, recommendations, and coaching to clients on business and cost driver analysis, monthly forecasting, annual and 5-year business financial plans, and budget allocation.
  • Support the development and championing of management reporting, financial modeling, and implications of business strategies and policies.
  • Identify non-value-added processes and map improved processes, assessing current financial processes and recommending specific and meaningful improvements in efficiency.
  • Coach and guide the development and documentation of financial plans, including developing and monitoring moderate complexity financial planning models.
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or commerce.
  • A minimum of five (5) years in finance, business analysis, and strategy support.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial, legislative, and regulatory environments.
  • Understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage several ongoing and competing projects.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and work in a multi-demand environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in various software applications and planning tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An MBA or professional designation such as a CPA.
  • Experience with IFRS.
