Job Summary

As a Process Engineer Co-op at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will assist with technical data analysis for the Process Engineering Specialist, focusing on development, deviation, and annual reports to meet client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire and apply practical and technical knowledge of manufacturing processes related to pharmaceutical dosage forms.
  • Complete tasks related to monitoring, trending, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and solving problems related to process efficiency, product quality, throughput, and yield.
  • Support investigations through data compilation and statistical analysis to determine root cause to atypical events.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects and prepare technical reports.
  • Participate in change management activities and use SAP enterprise software to source information and navigate business operations.
  • Support the Technical Operations department with process executions and perform alternating or rotating shifts as required.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a post-secondary diploma in Chemistry, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Working towards a BSc in Chemistry or Engineering.
  • Previous experience with Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and SAP enterprise software is an asset.
  • Strong written and oral skills, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Standards and Expectations
  • Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives.
  • Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Thermo Fisher Scientific quality systems SOP's and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Physical Requirements

The position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations, with the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time.
