Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer Co-op to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Process Engineer Co-op, you will assist with technical data analysis for the Process Engineering Specialist, focusing on development, deviation, and annual reports to meet client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and apply practical and technical knowledge of manufacturing processes related to pharmaceutical dosage forms.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, product quality, throughput, and yield.
  • Assist in investigations through data compilation and statistical analysis to determine root causes of atypical events.
  • Support the compilation and analysis of process data, presenting results and preparing reports.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in change management activities, collaborating with the team to implement changes.
  • Utilize SAP enterprise software to source information and navigate business operations.
  • Support the Technical Operations department with process executions, ensuring smooth operations.

Requirements:

Education:

We require an enrolled post-secondary diploma in Chemistry, Engineering, Science, or a related field. Working towards a BSc in Chemistry or Engineering is also preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing is an asset. Experience with SAP enterprise software and statistical analysis is also beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

You should possess strong written and oral communication skills, be detail-oriented and organized, with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Standards and Expectations:

You will be expected to follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures, work collaboratively with the team, and maintain a clean and orderly workspace. You will also be required to adhere to departmental systems, maintain a smooth and efficient workflow, and be client and patient conscious at all times.

Physical Requirements:

The position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination, with the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch periodically for prolonged periods. You will also be required to manipulate light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds, use arm, hand, and finger dexterity, and have visual acuity to operate equipment and read materials for prolonged periods.
