Executive Director Opportunity

Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operations of Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation, ensuring alignment with our Vision and Mandate.
  • Support the Board of Directors in strategic decision-making and governance.
  • Negotiate program funding and advocate for justice services for Nishnawbe-Aski Nation communities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, stakeholders, and Chiefs of Nishnawbe-Aski Nation.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in law, business administration, finance, human resources, or related fields.
  • Education and/or equivalent experience in the Ontario Legal system.
  • Familiarity with the geographical area of Nishnawbe-Aski Legal communities.
  • Experience with the Euro-Canadian Legal system and knowledge of indigenous justice systems.
  • Ability to speak Ojibway, Oji-Cree, or Cree (an asset).

  • Full-time position (35 hours per week).
