About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join Sysco as a Sales Representative. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for helping our customers succeed while achieving specific sales and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Engagement: Articulate and demonstrate the Sysco value proposition to engage and onboard new customers, utilizing consultative selling methods to drive sales growth.
  2. Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow account portfolio, retain customer accounts, and achieve profitable sales growth within assigned territory.
  3. Market Analysis: Evaluate customer business needs and analyze market trends to develop customer-centric product and service solutions.
  4. Market Intelligence: Stay informed of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products and sales, sharing information with customers as part of value-added services.
  5. Sales Technology: Leverage sales technology and business resources to provide end-to-end sales consultative services.
  6. Credit and Accounts Receivables Management: Manage credit and accounts receivables to ensure timely payment and minimize bad debt.
  7. Territory Growth: Utilize PMT & Deal Manager to support territory and market share growth.
  8. Pricing Management: Oversee pricing management and strategy for the territory to ensure optimal pricing and revenue growth.
  9. Activity Tracking: Track activities and results, collaborate on opportunities, and champion the team selling process through the use of Salesforce.
  10. Autonomy and Flexibility: Work independently with a high level of autonomy to support and successfully meet customer needs, including non-traditional hours as required.
  11. Food Safety and Quality: Comply with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality, and legality requirements are met.
  12. Environmental Stewardship: Understand the importance of working safely with minimal environmental impact and report all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in sales, preferably in a business-to-business (B2B) environment.
  2. Education: Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent experience; CPSA designation is preferred.
  3. Skills: Proven ability to cultivate relationships and grow sales, strong financial and business acumen, and ability to properly plan and execute business plans.
  4. Communication: Demonstrated skills in consultative selling, networking, and negotiations, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and influence a variety of key stakeholders.
  5. Business Acumen: Business and restaurant operations acumen to manage sophisticated customers, with the ability to express information in terms of profit and loss, food cost, and expense ratio.
  6. Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to learn proprietary CRM tools for planning and forecasting sales growth.
  7. Compliance: Ability to understand and manage compliance to contracts, with solid analytical problem-solving skills, including familiarity with analyzing reports and deriving insights from data.
  8. Autonomy: Proactive, self-directed, with the ability to structure a weekly schedule to be successful.
