Position Overview:
The Manager, User Experience will report to the Director of Product Portfolio and will spearhead the UX team, embedding user-centered design methodologies throughout our product development processes. This role serves as the organization's expert in User Experience (UX) design, facilitating communication with project teams, functional managers, and customers to ensure that design solutions effectively meet user needs. The aim is to enhance productivity, satisfaction among stakeholders, and foster innovation through systematic UX practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Development:
- Guide the strategic evolution and maturity of UX across the organization.
- Identify user research opportunities and communicate insights organization-wide.
- Lead user needs discovery, journey mapping, and persona development.
- Support the gathering of business requirements and value proposition development.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to integrate UX research early in the development process.
- Conduct UX workshops and usability testing to refine product features based on user feedback.
- Create high-fidelity UI/UX concepts and wireframes, incorporating user feedback.
- Systematize UX processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the organization.
- Facilitate communication between UX designers and developers to enhance product usability.
- Collaborate with software architects to maintain and optimize the UX Design system.
Management:
- Oversee stakeholder requests and coordinate customer feedback to assess design efforts.
- Lead a team of UX designers, providing guidance and resources for user-friendly solutions.
- Manage employee performance through goal setting and ongoing coaching.
- Identify and recommend vendors for products and services that meet organizational standards.
UX Design:
- Assist in UX design tasks as needed, including reviewing designs and facilitating activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (UX design, HCI, Graphic design) with over 8 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in UX for online services in B2B or G2B contexts.
- Familiarity with agile SCRUM environments; experience as a scrum master is a plus.
- Background in corporate, marketing, or technical communications.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven track record in UX management and team leadership.
- Strong grasp of user-centered design principles.
- Experience in developing design systems and research repositories.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify innovation opportunities.
- Excellent organizational skills and project management capabilities.
- Able to motivate teams and foster a culture of trust and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, including Microsoft Office, Jira, Confluence, and design programs like Axure and Figma.
