About the Job

Ghumaan Construction Limited is seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for building the structural framework of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role that requires working at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy environments. You will be required to work outdoors and may be required to relocate to various job sites.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the trade
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Client focus and judgement
