SMS Equipment Inc. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' heavy machinery.

As a Heavy Equipment Technician, your primary responsibility will be to perform preventative maintenance on a diverse range of heavy equipment, including Komatsu products. You will also conduct basic mechanical repairs as needed, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute required repair and maintenance tasks on various heavy equipment models.
  • Procure necessary parts to support timely repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Provide customers with insightful recommendations for additional maintenance and repair procedures, enhancing their equipment's longevity and efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Hold a recognized certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or equivalent qualification.
  • Maintain a valid Class 3 driver's license.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience working with Komatsu products; this is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in both French and English is an asset, facilitating effective communication with our diverse clientele.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications is advantageous for efficient record-keeping and communication.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic, being proactive, self-reliant, and customer-oriented in your approach.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the demands of our operations.
