Position: Senior Chemistry Analyst, Quality Control
Shifts Available:
- Day shift
- 12-hour weekend shift (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
The Senior Chemistry Analyst is responsible for executing chemical and physical testing in the laboratory, adhering to established schedules while following specifications, methodologies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This role also serves as a key resource for the laboratory team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct analyses of finished products, bulk materials, raw ingredients, and stability samples in accordance with current methodologies.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of data generated in the Quality Control laboratory.
- Support and engage in the training of new team members.
- Oversee the calibration and maintenance of all laboratory instruments.
- Maintain comprehensive records for equipment, standards, and manage inventory of reagents and consumables.
- Participate in investigations, troubleshooting, and the development of research and development methodologies.
- Draft and review documentation related to Quality Control processes.
- Contribute to the development and/or validation of new analytical methods.
Required Skills and Experience:
- College Diploma (DEC) or Bachelor’s degree in Science (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Familiarity with Canadian Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and American FDA regulations.
- Understanding of laboratory investigation protocols (FDA guidelines for OOS and OOT investigations, MRHA).
- Knowledge of Pharmacopoeias (USP, Ph. Eur., and BP) and their laboratory applications.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC (UPLC) and GC.
- Strong capabilities in training and mentoring new staff.
