Qualifications- Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry is required.
- Licensure: Must hold a valid certification from the College of Family Physicians (CCFP) and be licensed by provincial or territorial authorities.
- Examinations: Successful completion of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II) is necessary.
- Gather medical histories from patients and relevant parties.
- Conduct thorough examinations to diagnose illnesses and injuries.
- Request and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals to assess and manage patients' health.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans as needed.
- Offer guidance on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Deliver acute care management to patients in need.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families regarding health and lifestyle choices.
While prior experience is an asset, it is not mandatory.
Additional Information- Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
